Masterclass at the Royal College of Music
The Vauxhall Band Basset Horn Trio had a wonderful afternoon in October 2023 at the Royal College of Music Museum giving a lecture recital and masterclass to historical performance and modern clarinet students.
The trio demonstrated this fascinating instrument, along with baroque and classical clarinets, and chalumeaux. They also talked about its place in history (including at Vauxhall Gardens) before trying out some of the more unusual Czech repertoire with the students and discussing performance techniques.
