In March 2024 we stepped back in time to the Georgian and Victorian dance halls to learn a few new steps for the disco dance floor!
Led by world-renowned historic dance expert Mary Collins, accompanied by The Vauxhall Band performing on period instruments, during the workshops participants learned how to dance the Minuet, country dances and the Shomberg Galop to music by Ignatius Sancho and François-Hippolyte Barthélémon.
Participants also learned about and experienced the history of dance as a cultural form of expression, enjoyment, communication, social interaction and wellbeing.
