Artistic Director

Laura is the Founder, Artistic Director and Principal Flute of The Vauxhall Band, for which she researches and curates concert programmes, leads artistic and educational projects, and manages the organisation’s day-to-day activities. She is also Chair of the Board of Trustees.
She also has 20+ years experience of executive arts management for a range of other arts and educational organisations.
Laura is a flautist who specialises in the performing works on historical flutes. She has also performed and recorded with leading ensembles such as the London Handel Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Academy of Ancient Music.
Laura received an MA in Historical Performance from the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied baroque and classical flutes with Lisa Beznosiuk and Rachel Brown, supported by the Winifred Disney Award. She won the Early Music Prize and graduated with Distinction.
Keen to share her experiences, Laura has devised and performed in composition, academic and historic dance education projects for The Vauxhall Band, including masterclasses for the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music, and community projects for schools and the Classical Vauxhall festival.
